Capital City Symphony 2009-2010 Season

At the Atlas Performing Arts Center
1333 H Street, NE, Washington, DC

Click here for the Schedule with details of our 2009-10 concerts.

Our 42nd season will highlight what the Capital City Symphony does best: make music approachable by *presenting affordable concerts to the public, *performing creative programs in a relaxed concert format, and *providing appealing performance opportunities for talented amateur as well as professional players.

Every two years the Capital City Symphony features the winner of the Levine School of Music Cogen Concerto Competition. This year's Intermediate winner, violinist Fedor Ouspensky, will be the guest artist for the October 25th concert. On May 16th, our guest artist will be another young musician, violist Matthew Lipman, winner of the Johansen International String Competition.

CCS is excited to collaborate once again with Charlie Barnett, this time for an entire program of his music, joined in the second half by his band, Chaise Lounge. Join us in May for "Symphony Lounge!"

Children 16 and under are admitted FREE to all CCS concerts. For our youngest audience members, we will once again offer two performances of our annual Family Concert, with its instrument petting zoo, interactive concert, and special activity program book.

Enjoy high-quality music with the Capital City Symphony at a fraction of the cost of other venues!
