The Capital City Symphony celebrates the beginning of its 50th season! The concert will include special appearances by the orchestra’s founding music director, Louis Fantasia, and long-time music director John Welsh. The program will also honor our current music director, Victoria Gau, who will be celebrating her 20th season leading the Capital City Symphony. The concert will open with Wagner’s Prelude to Die Meistersinger, which was the first piece the orchestra performed 50 years ago. Other works will include Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1 under the direction of John Welsh, and two works from Victoria Gau’s first concert with the orchestra; Bernstein’s Overture to Candide and Liszt’s Les Preludes. Join us for this historical celebration!
